Your Thoughts[]

Whether you were a fellow handler in SOTF Mini or just an avid reader of the site, we'd like to know what you thought about Yoshitoki. What did you like, or dislike, about the character? Let us know here!

  • Yoshitoki was an interesting character. He was one of the characters with the most potential for development in the island situation, since he never made it into the game proper in canon, but at the same time he had a lot of groundwork laid out about his personality. T-Fox did a good job with that, and when Yoshitoki was being serious and reacting to the horrible things around him, he was a very good read. The part I wasn't so sold on was the degree to which Yoshitoki took cues from his frankly-silly manga portrayal at many points. It resulted in a bit of a tonal mismatch, something that never became an issue in the original work because Yoshitoki wasn't alive to cause mood issues. It's a situation where what works great for a character outside the island context feels a bit off in the game. That said, when he was more serious (as he was rather consistently towards the end of his run) Yoshitoki was a good read indeed. - MurderWeasel
